On Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 Members of Local Lodge 698 took on a Ray West Memorial Ramp Project to help their Union Sister Iola Corbett.
Last year Iola's son John had a life changing tragedy when he was pushed off a second story balcony. John is now paralyzed from the neck down and is in need of assistance. With the help of Business Representatives from District Lodge 60, Richard Cummins and the United Way, The AFL-CIO and the Ray West Memorial Ramp Project, Iola and John's family will now be able to better assist in getting him home.
The Union Members started their project early Wednesday morning and with a few long hard days they pushed forward to finish the project in three days.
With Union strong members and organizations like the United Way lives are forever changed.
